Tobii’s PCEye Go is an eye tracking system for Windows computers and tablets that enables users to operate any PC application typically controlled by a computer mouse using their eyes.
PCEye Go lets users with limited motor skills -- including ALS and spinal cord injuries -- browse the web, connect with friends online, play games, Skype, and use environmental controls to turn on lights or a TV -- even create documents and spreadsheets.
The Tobii PCEye is compatible with desktop and laptop computers running Microsoft Windows 7. The small, lightweight system attaches and detaches with a magnetic mounting plate and a USB cable. After installation and calibration -- a one-time 20-second process -- gaze interaction can run any application. The EyeMobile bracket enables PCEye Go to be used on Windows 8 Pro tablets.
All eye-track processing is done on the PCEye Go itself, not the computer, ensuring maximum performance -- even without the most recent PC or Windows iteration.
Tobii Gaze Interaction
PCEye Go is powered Tobii Gaze Interaction Software, which eliminates the need for a mouse, switch or keyboard. The software has two components: Mouse Emulation, which replaces the traditional mouse cursor with the user's gaze, and Gaze Selection.
Gaze Selection makes it possible to control your desktop, or any other application, through an intuitive two-step process that reduces unwanted clicks.
Tobii Gaze Selection's has a built-in keyboard to enter text or a web address; more powerful online keyboards are available with the optional Tobii Communicator, which also features dedicated augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) software.
